YOUR BODY NEEDS WATER
While everybody knows it is good to drink water, 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. Most people are unaware of how much damage dehydration does to their body and their beauty.
Dehydration damages every organ in the body and hydration helps heal them. The goal of the Hydration Healing book is to help make people aware of the importance of drinking water throughout the day to stay well hydrated to help their body heal.
YOUR BODY'S AIR FILTER
While researching this project on hydration and looking at how hydration affects the body and all the organs in it. we looked at how hydration affected the brain and heart and then how it affected the lungs.
We discovered the body’s built in air filter, the Mucociliary Escalator, which is the body’s first line of defense against airborne particles and part of our Innate immune system.
This was about the same time Covid-19 hit and we observed that it would be helpful in removing Covid-19 virus particles to lower the initial dose so the body would have less virus to fight.
Most people had never heard of this immune system before and it seemed to be overlooked in the fight against Covid-19. Enabling the Innate immune system to removes virus particles before they can take root and begin to multiply is one way to help mitigate the virus.
APPLIED SCIENCE SOLUTIONS
Applied science looks for real world applications by looking at things from new perspectives and creating different combinations. Being observant is important too.
When Alexander Fleming noticed mold growing on a petri dish he could have just tossed it or washed it out. Instead he observed that the mold was inhibiting the growth of bacteria which led to the discovery of penicillin. Many inventions have been mistakes that people observed could be real world solutions. Post It Notes were created two years after the "failed" glue that didn't stick very well was applied to paper for posting.
Applied science was used to create Velcro. While everyone had observed burrs sticking to their socks one person found an application for their attach and detach properties. While looking at how water helps the body we discovered how water is needed to help the body's Mucociliary Escalator removes virus particles before they can take root and multiply which helps reduce the viral load inside a person for a less severe case and less virus to spread.
Discovery is sometimes just paying attention to things you weren't looking for but have great applications for other areas.
